GBB Pistol
« on: March 17, 2010, 12:11:16 pm »
Hi

I am new to airsoft and am looking to get my first GBB pistol and was hoping for some advice on what to look for and what to avoid? Any help is greatly appreciated.

A good starters handgun for cost, usability etc is a Tokyo Marui Tac Master.

...tailgating C-X's post: yes, something from Marui, in either pistol or AEG line would never let you down. I am a fan of the Marui Glocks - very cheap and reliable. I would say avoid Chinasoft metal pistols for your first gun.

The most 'stock' answer for an AEG would be one of the Tokyo Marui M4 series. Once you have something so reliable and expandable, you can branch out in any direction from there.

P.S Where did you make that little avatar man? Looks cool. Is there a website where you design 'em?

Oh right. Didn't know the game. Good avatar though.

For Marui pistols, you could try:

http://www.fire-support.co.uk/category.php?cat=78&manufacturer=&stpos=10

Some good 'uns there for about £110.

(You'll need a UKARA number to buy on the web or in a store but you know that right?) The only other option which I can't recommend here is to see someone privately at a game. You only need to attend 3 times at a site and you can apply for a UKARA membership and be able to purchase online and in-store without any hassle. (Hope I'm not telling you stuff you already know.)

Speaking from experience don't touch a WE. Awful reliability and cheaply made. For a good reliable pistol that will keep going and going buy a TM. Two good choices being the Sig 226 or if you want to go over the top a Desert Eagle.
Remember we have the right to arm bears!

Yep. I have a full metal KJ Beretta in chrome. It's fabulous. I've hear the KJ USP is a nice bit of kit but apparently the mags are prone to leaking.

I have an all-metal KJ Beretta M92F.

It has a fixed hop and takes TM mags as well at KJW. I have had it for years and it is extremely reliable. The hop is set "just right" and so no worries there.

I used to have a KJ USP but sent it to my buddy in the US and it got seized by customs (no orange barrel) and ultimately destroyed.

Greg, I personally wouldn't touch another KJ USP again, found it to be a dreadful gun.

Back to topic...... I've got 2 WE pistols, and neither have caused me any problems
the french have suggested that they arm the Libyan rebels
I can see it now....
Libyan Rebel: "how does it work?"
French soldier: "hey nonny nonnied, firmly if I know, we just drop it and run away"

As I don't have UKARA yet, I have to go for clear or two tone. I was looking at this as a cheap gun to tide me over for the time being. Any thoughts?

It looks like a water pistol.

Why don't you just wait a month or two and then for the Same Money you can have something a bit more convincing.

I know it's tough when you're busting for something to shoot, but the wait will be worth it.

Yeah you're right, I was just thinking of getting it to serve me until I can buy an RIF. At which point I'll sell this one.

To throw another option in, the TM Five-Seven is brill.

Worked throughout winter for me no problem, mags hold enough gas for 70ish (or 3 mags) shots in warmer times.

Use .28`s in mine and the accuracy is excellent.

"... like he said ..."

I tend to order from Fire-Support. They have 48x M92F mags in stock as of 5 min ago. £22.50 a pop...
