Sodding deans connectors!!!!
« on: April 16, 2014, 06:18:43 pm »
Or should I say stoopid soldering iron. I've recently got a new soldering iron so as I could fix my motor and get my gun back up and running. I had a pig of a time just soldering motor connectors, I don't know whether it's cheap solder or a crap iron. I tried to solder them onto some old wiring that came out of a gun. So as I didn't ruin two brand new batteries. And it was just a fail.

Is anyone out there who is willing to solder them for me, I have two batteries and one gun that needs doing. I can supply the deans and heat shrink. I live on Caerphilly. I'd obviously pay for the work.

And 3 sets of connectors later and they're done. Just a little word of warning. If you use Flux, make sure it's actually Flux. I ordered Flux and got sent Solder Paste. Me thinking it was the same, just a different name had a shock when the nicely soldered new batteries wouldn't work. It's only on the 3rd set of connectors I decided not to use the Solder Paste. And now they work wonderfully.
