The Gearbox / JG G36C - Anyone handy with repairs?
« on: April 21, 2011, 11:20:13 am »
I've got a JG G36C, which is pretty much mint condition apart from the ever so small issue of it not actually firing. When the trigger is pulled there's no response at all, its like there isn't even a battery connected. Have tried different batteries and checked the fuse with no luck.

Gun repairs aren't exactly my forte, so I was wondering if anyone at DV would be prepared to take a look at it/give fixing it a go?

I would of course hand over some cash for it being done.

I'm aware that Jeff and some of the marshals do look at guns when they can on the day (god bless you guys), but would rather spare them the pestering as I'm sure they have more important things to be doing and this isn't my only gun.

Cheers!

I think what Firkit said covers it nicely, I'll always remember the time at TCI when i walked round the corner on my own only to be met by a group of 4 blues, who unloaded on me from 5 meters away, somehow, and to this day i will never know how, i managed to scrabble back round the corner without getting hit. (I was in a T shirt and thin trousers, no heavy vest for me not to notice shots).

That said, a few minutes later when they did come round the corner and shoot me (again, in t shirt and thin trousers, that i DID feel), they continued doing so for several seconds after id shouted hit and put my hand up, with the excuse "Take your f***ing hits then" ...I've never felt the urge to pistol whip someone until that day... -_-

In my own experience action hobbies have been my far the best I've dealt with. They have always delivered very quickly, have good prices, and are very helpful on the phone if you have a problem or need some more information. If I ever want to buy a new gun or kit these guys are where I look first.

Wolf are expensive but generally good and quick. Their site let me order a spare gas mag once when they didn't have any in stock, but to be fair to them they rang me the next day to sort it out, so I'll happily use them again should I need to.

I've used Airsoft world a few times aswell, their prices are pretty good, and shipping is quick, bar one time they forgot to send part of my order (but again they sent it quickly when I told them)

The only time I've used airsoft armoury it took them almost two weeks to get in contact with me, only to tell me that the rifle I ordered (which showed in stock) hadn't been sold by them for over a year  .... So that kinda put me off using them again.

That's just my personal experience though :)

Considering it can be used as a normal AEG aswell I can imagine that its actually quite a viable option for some people, does look very impressive I have to admit.

The guns do drop a little when they've had a few thousand bbs through them, so looking at the fps on that video of the stock gun, and since this ones been skirmished with a bit I would of thought you will be ok. But again *repeat of what Firkit and Bulletman have said* :)

I think its pretty good, lots of action and fun to be had with it, and considering its free as well, cant really complain! Although personally I haven't spent as much time on it as id like to, god help me shooting a guy in the face with an RPG and watching him flip in the air on bfbc2 is just too addictive!

The Gearbox / Well MP7
« on: July 23, 2010, 02:15:57 pm »
I've been thinking about an MP7 for a while, and am looking for it to replace my pistol/act as a secondary weapon. Looking at the options the Well MP7 seems about right (£120). I cant justify forking out over £200 for a TM version considering how little its going to be used.

So my question is, does anyone have any first hand experience with the Well version, what are your thoughts, or do you have any other recommendations?

General Discussion / Re: unsure about first aeg

I would think a grenade launcher might be just a little overkill for your first AEG, I've got one, and although you can say "I have a grenade launcher" and once in a blue moon fire it in the direction of someone, I would probably advise putting that money into something else, for now at least. But as said earlier, its very much down to what you as a player want. My personal favorites are the solid stock mp5's which are light, but can pack a punch and hold a large battery. Really would suggest leaving the grenade launcher for now though (In my opinion).

Actually speaking of videos, wasn't there meant to be some from the 4th as well, or have I missed them somewhere? :S

On my turn in the penalty shoot out I heard Jim say "I don't think we can use that one, there was a lot of swearing" haha  :D
Look forward to seeing them Olly!
