Title: Weekender anyone?
Post by: Firkit on June 26, 2006, 08:25:36 pm
These guys http://members.tripod.com/woodlandassaultsol/ are running a weekend event on the 7th/8th/9th July if anyone is interested.

"For the full weekend including the event Night time skirmish BBQ ans a good Breakfast and camp over we charge a standard ?35"

Anyone know of these guys? Pete/Dan? Can't be too far from your neck of the woods.

Does that apply for a one off? Are they pulling the personal insurance angle? That doesn't work.

Seems that's what they're aiming for.

Something about their website makes me want to avoid them like the clap, not sure exactly what it is though...

Yes, they are certainly more adept at the re-enactment than the web design ;)

If it's just the ?35 then I'm game.  If the extra membership money is needed then I'd rather eat my own phallus.  Their website is dodgy, and by reading it I feel like they're a bunch of army-crazy geirdos that will probably have no marshalling/h&s of any form present, and will be a shit weekend.  I would love to be proven wrong however (I don't know these people, but first impressions last).  But my previous statement remains-it's the company that's good, and not the place.

Very true.

The guy i have been in touch with (Martin) seems okay, might be worth a try if it is only ?35.
