Oddly, that's exactly what my dad suggested. I'll have to look out for some, thanks.

General Discussion / My G36c, and my silencer issue...
« on: January 04, 2009, 10:26:13 pm »
Hello again,

I've been gradually modding my G36 since I purchased it, and that included a Kings Arms  200mm / 40mm silencer ( that I got for christmas.

It worked fine, fit fine, but that all came to an abrupt end when my step sister sat on it when it was lying on my bed while fixed to the end of the gun. So now, the silencer will not screw on at all, it's become incredibly loose. This leads me to believe either the threads on the G36 or the silencer have been wrecked.

Has anyone experienced anything similar to this and has a solution? I'm not entirely sure which threads are worse. The silencer is replacable, but I'd rather not replace the gun since it's costly. Oddly, the flash hider just about screws on securely and this makes me think that the silencer threads are worse off than the G36 threads. With that in mind, I had a look for quick-detach silencers that could fix onto the flash hider. I could only find one at £62, and it's been out of stock for ages. Plus, it's on the high price side of silencers.

So any ideas would be appreciated. Things like super-glue are a no-go, since the silencer needs to be removed to get the fore-grip off where the battery and fuse are stored. Alternative silencers and adapters would be better. Any really tight fitting anti-clockwise 14mm silencers may work ok, or any silencers with extremely strong threads.

This is how the gun looks currently for those interested:

Ahh I was looking for something like that before I started this, but gave up and made my own. It's not bad, but it is missing a fair few parts, and it doesn't offer complete flexibility.  :D

As I expect a few of you are aware, you can grab some neat little gun gif's from this website:

However, this doesn't help much if you have a highly customized weapon and these images don't quite reflect the care you put into their appearance and funtionality. That's where I step in. I'm an avid Photoshop enthusiast, and spent a fair few years using, studying, and even earning money in its use. Sometimes I love starting little projects for the sheer hell of it, so here goes one.

If you would like a customized gun icon, let me know, and please send me a picture for the most accurate results. An example of this process can be seen below. I took the standard HK G36c icon and modified it into my own weapons appearance.

I'll also be posting any new creations up here, just to build up a little showcase.

I look forward to serving you.  :)

Just throwing out some greetings, I'm new here.

I've always been a fan of airsoft, but growing up it was one of those elusive hobbies which my parents didn't approve of, and I was always too busy with something else. However, all that has changed. I'm now 20, living away from home and attending Hereford College of Arts studying a film degree. I decided to sacrifice some luxury and devote a small portion of my loan to airsoft. Dragon Valley is the closest site to me, since Spectre Wargames shut down last year, and I've been watching you (Big Brother style) the last few weeks on the gallery and youtube. Don't worry, you get good marks, and I plan to make an appearance after my Christmas break.

I look forward to seeing you all soon, and shooting you of course!
