The Gearbox / M14 EBR STRIPPER CLIP MOUNTING RAIL
« on: February 18, 2011, 04:27:17 pm »
Hi all,

I've found a rail section which fits into the stripper clip guide on my M14 EBR:

www.sageinternationalltd.com/si/access/ebr.html

But it's pretty expensive for a piece of metal, and it's in the U.S (so I'll have to pay for shipping etc.).

Anyone know of an airsoft alternative for this part, ideally from a U.K seller?

Thanks!

I'm almost certain i won't need to worry about either of these shooting 'hot' because the fps of both is very consistent, and using no hopup. I've tested this at a range of ambient temperatures, and it still falls below 350 regardless.

Worst case is i'll just use one of my others instead

After a good 'breaking in', my New G&G M14 EBR is chronoing at 345 every time, and my G&P Magpul/ VLTOR M4 is hitting a 347 average comfortably. Job done!! No need to chop or leave springs compressed or change any parts.

Shoot it on full auto and leave the spring compressed over night. Then put some mags through it and it should bed it self in abit.

Yeah, I've heard about this.. In your experience, do you think it's likely to scrub off the 8(ish)fps?

Thanks!

Or... you could do the sensible option, and put a weaker spring in it....

Could do.. But that's not the kind of relatively quick option I was looking for.

Thanks anyway though.

Magpul Body fitted by Z1! Chrono'd at 358fps... Any ideas for getting it under 350 relatively quickly?

Zeroone prices can be a little steep at times, but they do a good job of it
have to disagree with you there mate ,  three people i know have sent guns to this mob one was hot , one was miss firing and the third needed a new battery wire (it had been pulled out) and all three guns were returned in realy s**t order one has never worked properly since , and the owner was told must have broken in transit (internal fault ,thats clever) so take it up with the courier . other two had to be returned and repaired again .

Great!! I've booked a collection with Zero One for Friday... Mistake?... Possibly!

To put the thread back on track.

Love the EMAG. Gives an air of AK-ness to the thing. Kudos!

Thanks buddy. These polymer mags are much more durable, light weight and they look the sh*t!

As for the body, I think ZeroOne offer a service like this.
Otherwise, Cougar (Andy) may do it for you.

Thanks for that mate. I'll make some enquiries!  :)

I just thought I'd post a pic up of my new accessorised little monster. Can't wait to use it.. I think it should be just under 350fps.

Also, I have a Magpul body to fit, but I don't have the time (or possibly the skill) to do it... Can anyone recommend where I can get it done, without having my gun ruined?

Thanks guys!!

Regarding this whole Parcelforce 'Handling Charges' issue.

There are actually sections of the Postal Services Act (I believe) which will alow you to argue against the charges. I have done it fairly regularly in the past and it always works... Sometimes I just can't be bothered though!

It's something to do with the fact that it is illegal for any entity (other than the government) to hold your mail (i.e your property) pending payment of any charges (with the exceptions of V.A.T and Import Duty).

So... You can argue that you will pay the V.A.T and Import Duty, but refuse to pay their disporportionate charges!

I will dig out the relevent info. if you guys want it... If I recall, there are also successful past legal cases to support these arguments.

Just go and shoot some real automatic weapons in Prague..

Just remember to watch out for undercover inspectors and armed corrupt Czech police, as I learned last week!

Found it...

It's called a 'Cartridge Clip Guide Scope Mount Base'

Gonna try and find somewhere to buy one at a reasonable price now.

There's an additional mount that fits just in front of the rear sight. You'll need it to mount that type of scope properly.

Does it fit to this area?

If so, do you know where i can pick one up?

Thanks!
