touch circuit help!!!

hey guy, im currently doing my A level design technology course in which I have to design a lamp, now the design ive made requires it to be touch activated, run off a battery and have L.E.D's. Now I know nothing about circuits and my intended plan was to dissasemble a touch lamp and modify the circuit so as to be used with a battery and 4 L.E.D white bulbs, only to find that it cant be done. so I want to know do any of you guys here know where I can get or buy such a circuit or even have one made, or if any of you guys could make one, again I will pay, as i really dont mind aslong as I get one as time is getting short on my deadline.

cheers russ, that was what I was looking for but just a little to late Facepalm

Ive had to change my design now and im now using a pressure switch to activate the LEDS,
